The Uttarakhand government has commenced the survey process for extending the metro rail line from Dehradun to the twin cities of Haridwar and Rishikesh. The project aims to enhance inter-city connectivity across these major towns in Uttarakhand. The initial phase involves IG Drones, a drone technology and analytics company, conducting a topographical survey for preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the proposed Personalised Rapid Transit (PRT) corridor within Dehradun city. The PRT corridor is designed to serve as a feeder line for the envisioned metro corridor in Dehradun, connecting key areas such as Panditwari to the Railway station, Clement Town to Balliwala, and Gandhi Park to IT Park. The first phase of the metro project includes proposed lines from ISBT to Gandhi Park and FRI to Raipur
